The council's Draft Budget consultation period finished 3 weeks ago and we are waiting for the final numbers regarding The Better Plan. We are EXTREMELY concerned that the powers that be have decided not to take into account individual emails from residents. They may claim the format was incorrect - Similar to the way they managed to ignore the online petition against the new parking regime.

The politicking about the market has calmed. An independent management board was appointed to the market in 2021. We believe a full audit of the market board and its operations are warranted for transparency.

We note the ironical outrage by Cr Kate Hely (South Yarra Ward) regarding the State Government overturning the voice of the people and allowing an over scale development to proceed. She seems to have forgotten the voice of the people when the new parking permit scheme came to a vote. It has a disapproval rate close to 99%.
